Community Colleges – The Place to Go if You Want to Start a Business

By on April 21, 2014

With so many students going so deep in debt for degrees that they may never use, it is nice to see this positive development in the academic world. It turns out that more and more community colleges are creating entrepreneurial incubators that give many start ups the chance to grow and become successful businesses. Many of these incubator programs allow businesses to get started with little overhead expense. The college also has staff and other connections that can provide the intellectual resources a start up may need. And many of these community colleges are able to get the start up owners in front of angel investors to give these businesses the funding they need.

So if a high school grad has an idea for a business, would a four year degree and over $100,000 in debt be the way to go, or a community college with a all the help you need to start a profitable business. My guess that the student at the community college will be getting the most important education, one that actually is useful in the real world.
